Kunuku (koo-NOO-koo)
Kunuku (koo-NOO-koo), meaning "countryside" in Papiamento, is more than just a name; it's the heart of our story.
We're Danique and Nadine, the co-owners of Kunuku. Our journey began on the beautiful Caribbean island of Bonaire, where Papiamento is the local language.
We fell in love amidst the rustic charm of the countryside – known locally as the "kunuku." It's this word that inspired our brand name and reflects our deep connection to nature, simplicity, and authenticity. We craft our jewelry from reclaimed wood, each piece a testament to the beauty and resilience we find in the natural world, and to the stories that shape our lives.

Handcrafted in Montana
We believe that true beauty lies in the details. That's why we pour our hearts into each Kunuku bracelet, meticulously crafting each piece by hand in our Montana workshop.
As woodworkers, we have a deep appreciation for the unique character of wood, its grains whispering stories of time and resilience. Every Kunuku bracelet begins its journey as a piece of reclaimed wood, carefully selected for its beauty and character. We then meticulously cut, shape, sand, polish, and engrave each piece. Every step, from selecting the perfect piece of reclaimed wood to tying the final knot in the macramé cord, is done entirely by hand, ensuring no two bracelets are ever alike.

Sustainability at our core
We believe in treading lightly on our planet and giving new life to forgotten materials. That's why we craft our bracelets with a focus on sustainability, using reclaimed and responsibly sourced wood. We're committed to minimizing waste and making choices that protect our environment. This commitment extends to every aspect of our business, from sourcing materials to packaging and shipping.
